How the bot pulls the job.
Two strategies on one chart: gold trend breakouts and stock-index pullbacks. A stop loss on every trade. No grid, no martingale.
Trading involves risk. Past performance does not guarantee future results.
Two strategies, one chart
Attach Giza to any chart. It trades every listed market by itself.
The gold breakout
Follows gold's big trends
- Places orders above and below gold's recent range (XAUUSD) and trades the breakout only in the direction of the bigger trend.
- A stop loss from the start that trails behind the best price, sized to the market's volatility. No fixed take profit: a winner stays open while gold keeps running.
- When one order fills, the other is deleted. Pending orders are removed on Friday evening, so nothing fills on a Monday gap.
- The Low Drawdown preset trades it more slowly, on a higher timeframe.
The index pullback
Buys short, sharp sell-offs
- Buys a dip in the S&P 500, Nasdaq 100, Dow 30 and Nikkei 225 while their long-term trend is up.
- Enters at the daily close after a short, sharp sell-off; exits once the index has bounced, or after a set number of days.
- A stop loss sized to the market's volatility on every trade. About 3 trades a month, each held a few days.
Three presets, backtested
MetaTrader 5 Strategy Tester, the broker's own price history, 1-minute OHLC modelling (not real ticks), 100,000 USD start, January 2020 – October 2026. Backtests, not tracked trading — the tracked account is on the results page.
| Preset | Risk per trade | Safety net | Net result | Largest equity drawdown |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Aggressive | gold 2%, indices 3% | 30% below the starting balance | +769% | 35.2% |
| Standard (default) | gold 1%, indices 1% | 20% below the starting balance | +201% | 17.7% |
| Low Drawdown | gold H4 1%, indices 1% | 20% below the starting balance | +52.8% | 12.0% |
How these tests were run. 1-minute OHLC modelling uses each minute's open, high, low and close, not every real tick, so fills inside a minute are estimated. Spreads, slippage and swaps on your broker will differ. Breakouts earn in trending markets and give some back in sideways ones; the 2023–2026 gains came largely from gold's strong trend. Past results do not guarantee future results.
Risk controls you configure
What each control does — and what it cannot do.
- A stop loss on every trade, and the lot is sized from your risk %, so a trade that hits its stop costs about the % you set. Price gaps, slippage and weekend openings can make a loss larger.
- Max-loss safety net: 20% by default (static, from the starting balance; trailing modes available). At 80% of the limit Giza closes everything and stops trading. Set it to 0 to switch it off.
- Loss-limit sizing: before every trade it adds up what the account would lose if every open trade and pending order hit its stop, and cuts the lot (or skips the trade) to fit the room left before your limits. It cannot account for gaps or slippage beyond the stops.
- News lock (optional): no new orders around high-impact news from MetaTrader's built-in calendar. The calendar is not available in the Strategy Tester, so backtests run without it.
- Prop firm presets for FTMO, FundedNext and The5ers rules. Keep the risk at 1% or lower and check your firm's current rules yourself.
- Every control only works while MetaTrader is running and connected.

Backtest in MT5
The free demo from MQL5 runs only in the MetaTrader 5 Strategy Tester, on historical prices: you can run any preset over any period, on your own broker's data. It cannot trade a demo or real account.
- On the MQL5 page click Free Demo; it installs into your MetaTrader 5
- Strategy Tester → Expert: Giza Gold EA; use “1 minute OHLC” or “Every tick based on real ticks”
Try on a demo account
A separate 14-day trial of the full EA that trades a demo account in real time, so you can watch it on your own charts. It does not run on real accounts and stops after 14 days.
- Download GizaGoldEA_Trial.ex5 from our trials post on MQL5
- Copy it to MQL5 → Experts (File → Open Data Folder), refresh the Navigator, drag it onto any chart
The software and setup
An Expert Advisor for the MetaTrader 5 desktop terminal. One chart runs everything.
- Buy or rent on MQL5. Log in to your MQL5 account in MetaTrader 5 (Tools → Options → Community).
- Install it from the Navigator: Market → Purchased → Install.
- Turn on Algo Trading and drag Giza onto any chart. It finds your broker's gold and index symbols by itself.
- Pick a preset on the Inputs tab (Load). The default settings are the Standard preset.
- Keep MetaTrader running. The EA only trades while the terminal is open; a VPS helps.
Common questions
Does it use a grid or martingale?
No. Every trade has its own stop loss and a lot sized from your risk %. It never adds to a losing trade.
What is the difference between the two tests?
The free demo from MQL5 runs only in the Strategy Tester on past prices. The 14-day trial trades a demo account in real time. Neither trades a real account; for that you need the purchased or rented EA.
Are the results on this site from the same bot?
Yes. The tracked account runs Giza Gold EA 1.10 with the Aggressive preset. Every trade is on the results page. Backtests are shown separately and never added to the tracked record.
How much can I lose?
Each trade risks about the % you set (default 1%), but gaps and slippage can make a loss larger, and losses can come in a row. The safety net closes everything at 80% of its limit. In the backtest the Aggressive preset had a 35.2% equity drawdown, Standard 17.7% and Low Drawdown 12.0%. Only trade money you can afford to lose.
Can I use it on a prop firm challenge?
It has presets for FTMO, FundedNext and The5ers rules. Pick your firm in the inputs and keep the risk at 1% or lower, not the Aggressive preset. Check your firm's current rules yourself; the EA cannot guarantee you pass or keep an account.
What do I need?
The MetaTrader 5 desktop terminal (or a VPS running it), a broker with gold and stock-index CFDs, hedging or netting account. Low index spreads help. A small account may be below the smallest gold lot at normal risk.
How do updates and support work?
